Kids For Wish Kids
Rock Canyon’s $15,000 Record Breaking Wish Week
The students of Rock Canyon High School participated in a Kids For Wish Kids fundraising
week that went above and beyond everyone’s expectations. Originally, Rock Canyon HS
was raising money to sponsor the Wish of a seventeen year old girl named Harley whose
wish is to become a professional photographer.
At the end of the week the school raised more than $15,000, enough money to grant three wishes
and break all previous Kids For Wish Kids fundraising records. Each year, Elitch Gardens
Amusement park gives the top earning elementary, middle, and high schools free tickets to the
park. Rock Canyon's outstanding achievement puts them in the running for tickets this year and the Kids for Wish Kids trophy.
The wish week at Rock Canyon HS included many activates like dodge ball games, a teacher
student basketball game, and classroom fundraising competitions. All of the students showed selflessness and generosity that brought the students and faculty together.
The closing assembly at Rock Canyon HS included a fun-filled celebration of the student’s success and a presentation of a check to the CEO of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado. The ceremony also included a Wish Reveal to Harley where the Wish Kid received all of the photography equipment to make her wish come true and established lasting friendships with Rock Canyon HS students.
Thank you to Rock Canyon HS for all of your hard work!
